I've read where some seem to say it plays stiffer than a typical X shaft whereas others say its smooth. It is very stable in the handle but is smooth. Even when I tried this shaft in an X-flex, getting it to load and kick was effortless. The trade off for that kind of feel is usually consistency, but no such sacrifice is required here.
