Smaller glass crushers fit for supermarkets, hospitality and the beginning stages of glass recycling in a recycling facility are loaded with an empty wheelie bin at the bottom and filled with glass through the top hopper. Once closing the doors and turning on the machinery, the metal rotors quickly move back and forth to crush the glass. Larger VSI glass crushers operate instead through a crushing centrifugal force and rotors after glass is loaded through the top. While the GP models are similar by way of their internal centrifugal rotors, they also have a screen to help filter for a safe finished glass aggregate with no sharp edges.
