May 2, 2007. #1. Hello! I am new here. I need an answer quickly if anyone can help me. I am pushing 400 iso Ilford Delta 35mm film to 800iso. I need to figure out how long to develop the film for using D-76 1:1. My professor only told me to develop it for 25-50% longer than I would normal 400iso Delta film.

Delta 400 has better resolution, sharpness and finer grain than Ilford HP5+ and Kentmere 400. But HP5+ is a bit more flexible at push processing above EI 800/30

In this case, pulling Delta 3200 to ISO 400 or 800 will give you more detail in the shadows than any other film available. Meaning it'll soften the harsh, midday shadows on people's faces, and give you the flexibility to choose your shadows and blacks in post. Delta 3200 in a high-contrast construction scene.

I've been shooting camera at 1600 and telling my lab to develop at 1600 as well. I'm considering shooting at 800, 1000 and 1250 as well as 1600 in hopes of reducing the grain a bit and getting more detail.
